On February 8, 2021, the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority selected and approved Great Hills Constructors as the Apparent Best-Value Proposer to design and construct the 183 North Mobility Project.
Great Hills Constructors is a joint venture between two well-established and highly-regarded construction firms that have joined to deliver the 183 North Mobility Project for the Mobility Authority. The joint venture is comprised of Archer Western Construction, LLC, and Sundt Construction.
The goals of the $612 million project are to improve mobility, reduce congestion and provide more reliable travel times for transit and emergency responders along US 183 between State Highway 45 North and Loop 1 (MoPac).
Construction along the nine-mile stretch of US 183 is set to begin in spring 2022 and is expected to last just over four years, with completion targeted in 2026. The construction will take place in phases.
